We came to New Zealand for a few weeks on Honeymoon and enjoyed our time there so much we returned every year for twenty-five years, until, sadly, Barrie passed away.

During all those years we stayed in Akaroa and of course became aware of the Junior Academy, and thoroughly enjoyed the musical evenings as both of us enjoyed music in general. We were happy to become involved with the Academy financially as we realised expense was necessary to assist students to gain experience by climbing the ladder towards success, through travelling abroad for training and examinations all of which are costly.

We were always delighted when each year the Academy Students were successful and returned home with Certificates and Awards as proof of their achievements. There are too many achievements to mention here, but current and previous music lovers will be familiar with all the success stories.  

I would like to thank particularly, Wolfgang and Edith and all the Tutors who have been involved in this happy and successful Academy, for their knowledge, thoughtfulness and kindness, and hope it will continue for many more years.
